Think outside the box
When you've exhausted your past, it's time to create new interests and history. Instead of talking about what has happened in your life, talk about what's happening now, or what you want to have happen.

In life we all need new activities and interests to keep us entertained. If we allow ourselves to become too comfortable, we get stagnant. A sure way to keep your conversations flowing is to be engaged in a specific activity when you do spend time together.

Play some games, do a puzzle, work on a project together or go work out together. One way my husband and I create ways to keep our conversation flows open is to always work towards something new.

When you are both trying to achieve something together, you automatically have something exciting to talk about. Maybe you want to get a pet, work towards a dream vacation, buy a house, help a non-profit group meet a specific goal or compete together in a competitive event.

It doesn't matter what you choose as long as you are both interested and excited about it. It's passion that fuels our daily lives. The more passionate and exciting you can make your life, the more interesting it will be.

When you settle for comfortable, normal everyday life you're settling for an average relationship. Sometimes, to renew a relationship you need to think outside the box.
